| From
an early age I was tinkering about in my fathers garage and my formative
years were spent with a friend on his family farm making weird and
wonderful contraptions. This early experience started me on the path
to becoming a craftsman in years to come.
At the age of twenty I decided working with wood
was what I wanted to do. I threw myself into the craft with real
enthusiasm and slowly built my skill levels up with trial and tribulation
along the way.

My journey took me from working
initially in Leicester, to Bingley in West Yorkshire and
then to the Cotswolds before returning to Leicestershire to begin
self employment in the 1990’s. (Tooley
Park Furniture).
I’m always striving to learn new skills, and
in 2004 I attended “The
College of the Redwoods”, a world renowned woodworking
school in California. Here the emphasis was very much on the development
of hand skills. It was in America that my interest in making boxes
began.
