This
is a commissioned box in maple for an ex Gurkha officer. He wanted
the word "SampeiBhaini" carved on the front, and the inside
left empty. |
|
|
|
This
is quite a large box.
The
overall sizes are 350mm wide, 260mm deep and 155mm high. |

I
carved the lettering before I glued the box together.
African blackwood was used for the key escutcheon. |

|
| The
top is one piece of maple split in half and jointed together
to give two similar grain patterns. Known as "book matching". |
